Please note: Some older email programs do not provide a checkbox for SMTP server authentication or allow the use of the full email address as an Account User Name, so an upgrade to a newer version of the program may be necessary.

Email Setup - Netscape 7 Mail for OS X

These instructions will help you configure Netscape 7 Mail for OS X to get email

  1. Open Netscape.
  2. From the Window menu, select Mail & Newsgroups.

  1. Once the Mail & Newsgroups window opens, go to the Edit menu and select Mail & Newsgroups account settings...

  1. Click the Add Account... button on the left.

  1. The New Account Setup wizard will appear. To begin, click the button next to Email account and click Next.

  1. On the Identity screen, enter your name in the first box, and your full email address (such as myname@mycompanyname.com) in the second. Click Next to continue.

  1. On the Server Information screen, select POP, and next to Incoming Server, type email.tidalhosting.com

  1. Click Next to continue.
  2. On the User Name screen, type your full email address (such as myname@mycompanyname.com) and click Next.

  1. On the Account Name screen, enter a name for your new account (such as My Comany Name Email Account) and click Finish.

  1. The Congratulations screen will appear confirming your email settings. Click Finish.

You will need to configure your outgoing mail server separately.

  1. Click the Outgoing Server (SMTP) section on the left.

  1. Next to Server Name, type email.tidalhosting.com
  2. Next to Port, type 25.
  3. Next to Use Name and Password, type your full email address (such as myname@mycompanyname.com)
  4. Next to Use Secure Connection, select Never
  5. Click OK.


Note: Due to limits placed on your mailbox, you must complete the following steps to prevent your mail from being blocked or deleted.

  • From the Window menu, select Mail & Newsgroups.
  • From the Edit menu, select Mail & Newsgroups account settings...
  • Find your account on the left and double-click it to expand its options.
  • Click Server Settings.
  • In the window on the right, ensure that the Leave messages on server box is unchecked.
  • Click OK to save.
