iPhone and iPad Email Set Up

iPhone and iPad Email Setup

Configure IMAP for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.  IMAP will allow you to retrieve emails and folders from SmarterMail and leave a copy of the emails on the server.

Select POP3 if you would rather your mail is saved in a mailbox on the remote server until you check your mail.  When you check your mail, all of the mail is downloaded to your device and is no longer maintained on the server.  If you use POP3 and are traveling or check your mail from multiple locations, you will not be able to view any of your old mail because the messages only exist on the device/computer on which you downloaded your mail.

As iPhone settings are constantly updated it’s best to check directly with Apple support for specific directions.  Make sure to use the Mail Server and Port settings listed below.

Incoming/Outgoing Server:  email.tidalhosting.com
Encryption Method: SSL/TLS
Incoming Port: 993
Outgoing Port: 465
